Little Black Dress Wrap :D

I love how it wraps and now I love how it looks – my new ‘little black dress wrap’ is a lovely, wide. mouldable and supportive Natibaby Mea Frizzle that I’ve chopped to a size 3 and dyed black!

Here it is as it comes (image thanks to Natibaby):

And here’s close-ups of mine now it’s been deyd with Dylon Velvet Black.  First without flash (to show more closely how it looks in real life) and with flash (to show the deep navy/purple tones in the colours, and the fact that there’s still a bit of contrast):

And here it is in use tied in a not particularly great RTIF while on holiday (it subsequently got a lot of use as a beach blanket and sunshade :D ):

beautiful! How much dye did you have to use? I have a size 2 Pfau I really want to dye black, but I’m nervous!

Thanks! I used 1 full pack of dylon machine dye, and it dyed this 3.2m long and very wide cotton wrap as well as the tea towel I’d chucked in between the dye powder/salt and wrap at the beginning (to help prevent spots of dye). It’s black enough for me as it is, but I guess you could get an even more deep/well saturated black if you used more? (though you’d probably need a lot of rinsing after that much black). If it’s a newer pfau you’re thinking of dyeing black, I can imagine it’d look really effective in a single colour with the texture allowing the birds to still stand out and not get lost in the night, iyswim? I’d love to see how it turns out! Em xx

ugh… I wish we had Dylon Machine Dye here in the states. :( I think your wrap came out deep and lovely!

:( I’m afriad I don’t know about other brands, but a pack of dylon says it’ll dye 600g/1lb of dry weight cotton to full colour. My Mea wrap probably weighs less than that, but if you tried an equivalent machine dye + used enough for that weight of fabric, then it should come out as dark as mine did maybe?
